from 37 reviewsUnbelievable. Once i started i couldn't stop until i was finished. As good as if not better than some of the best escape rooms i've done. Loved the different challenges and mechanisms across the boxes. 10/10
I love the pure, clean stark visuals of this trio [or quartet, really].
I was hoping for a slightly greater challenge that would have taken me a bit longer to solve, but it's a wonderful set that proceeds from easier mechanisms to some more advanced in the end.
As such, it's perfect for perhaps presenting to a room full of non-puzzling friends! Maybe they'll get sucked in.
Speaking of getting sucked in, I was a big fan of the story / written elements in the ECD, which are the cards at the outset but little else, sadly. I would have liked more! But that just goes to show, it must have been good, if I wanted more. :}
Had a blast solving these puzzles. Very clever and well made!
The puzzles were so much fun. I love the packaging, it keeps the puzzles all together and is great for displaying. Can't wait to see what the next puzzle!
My kids and I love the puzzle set. They had a blast solving them.
I'm still pretty new to puzzle boxes, but I've tried several and these have been the most interesting and fun. I struggled a bit with the first one, but once I had a basic idea of what to expect, the others were more straightforward (but still challenging). These had some clever mechanisms and puzzles and they were very well made!
I had never purchased a puzzle like this before. Most of them have all been the laser cut wood ones
but I took a chance and dedicated the money to purchase this set. I'm so grateful I did. The puzzles are challenging, but not foreboding. It's a very tactile sequential discovery puzzle made from the 3D printed parts to the mechanics all lead to a highly durable puzzle. I hope we dont have to wait 2 years for another offering from NP. And thank you as I no longer have to lie to my wife as to what it is. I just say "oh it's Nothing"
I got #90, just in time for Christmas, and perhaps all of us uncles neglected our families too much because of it. These three puzzles are fantastic -- compelling, aesthetic, and really well-made. The suggested timing was pretty much spot-on, and I appreciate that it can be reset (and there's come room for a prize or something at the end). Each of the trilogy had a different vibe, and all were a challenge. They unfold in awesome ways.
My only issues were that one (and only one!) stage of one the puzzles didn't quite land -- which, out of how many stages is a feat -- and that the story materials took an "ancient artifact" theme, when these bad boys are clearly from the future.
I very much look forward to the next set of puzzles, and that the creator has much success!
Really enjoyed doing all three. Very well made. The only thing to note is that each box is self contained. When I got stuck on one box, I started another box and tried to mix tools. This does not work.
The Nothing Puzzle is the best puzzle box in my collection, and it's not even close. And I have a pile of really lovely examples. I cannot recommend it enough.
I have some exquisite metal and wood puzzles that may exhibit some nice craftsmanship, sure. But the Nothing is right up there with them even in plastic: it feels super high quality in the hands, and the design complements the materials really nicely. It has weight, it feels gorgeous to manipulate, it moves satisfyingly. It's just a lovely set of objects, both to look at, and to hold.
I also have puzzles with more obscure or difficult moves in the solving. But the overall... I guess, "story"?, of the Nothing solve is long, surprising, challenging, and consistently delightful. There's just so much to do, and almost all of it is joyfully clever and unexpected. It works so well, without ever frustrating or disappointing. That's an incredibly difficult thing to achieve.
It even comes with a fun narrative "wrapper" - not by any means a fully fledged story, but enough of a hint at story to add something. It goes from being an object to bring an experience.
So yeah, incredible work. Other puzzles I've done may beat the Nothing in individual parts or categories, but the Nothing is, by a massive margin, the single greatest puzzle box experience I've laid hands on. I'm incredibly excited to share it with my friends, and enjoy it again through them. I now cannot wait to grow old and infirm so that one day, if I'm lucky, I might forget I ever solved it, and then I'll get to do it all over again.
Clean and simple looking from the outside but so much going on in the inside. Interesting story to go with it as well. Nothing's ECD Trilogy was everything I look for in an SD puzzle. Fluid and innovative mechanics where one step led to the next. Just enough information so I could use the clues to figure out what came next. At no point did I feel lost but it took some work and brain power to make it all the way through. Wondering if the story will continue in future series and if there might be some Easter eggs for those of us that solved this trilogy when the next puzzle is released. It's obvious that a lot of love and care was put into designing and building ECD Trilogy. Looking forward to Nothing's next puzzle.
An amazing set, well designed and well crafted. A lot of thought has gone into their creation, and executed fantastically. The most o have spent on a puzzle box set to date, and well worth every penny.
ECD 1 is like an onion. You peel it layer by layer and each one is sufficiently challenging to be fun but not too brutal to make you give up! Very smooth solve and beautifully designed. The puzzle itself is hefty and fun to hold.
Nothing’s ECD trilogy was such a joy to experience. Every new discovery kept the puzzles exciting for hours on end. Each box builds on the strengths of the last, while still being unique enough on its own to feel fresh and challenging. The craftsmanship is also brilliant, clearly a lot of time and care has been put into each puzzle and Im going to be proud to display them. By the end of the trilogy I was left with one final thought: I want more!!!
A puzzle trilogy where you can see the amount of time, effort and thought has been put into every detail. From the design to the puzzles, everything flows and feels both delibrate and logical.
